Shark Fund is Sycamore Valley Elementary’s nonprofit education foundation, 100% funded and managed by parents for the benefit of all Sycamore Valley students. Shark Fund is an affiliate of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation (
www.srvef.org).
The Shark Fund Foundation contributes to the school to provide the following benefits for our children:
- Trained paraeducators in EVERY classroom to assist teachers with small group instruction. This helps keep the Teacher-to-Student Ratio Lower!
- Weekly library visits for all students to support and enhance literacy education (the district only provides funding for visits every other week)
- Rainbow Room program to support social development for grades TK-3
- Reading intervention programs to support literacy for grades TK-5
- Supplemental office hours to support school administrators and all staff
We guarantee that EVERY child will benefit from Shark Fund donations.
Our goal is 100% participation from families in the amount that you can financially afford. The suggested donation is a tax-deductible $575 per child per year. Every dollar helps! Shark Fund’s suggested donation amount is one of the lowest in the district due primarily to the high participation rate of families who have contributed to Shark Fund in past years. If we do not receive sufficient donations and/or miss our fundraising goal, these staff positions that benefit every child will, unfortunately, need to decrease.
This year, we hope to support over $300,000 in staff positions and programs with funds raised from parent donations. The revenues we generate help bridge the gap between state and local education funding (managed by the SRV Unified School District) and what we, as a community, believe is necessary to provide high-quality educational experiences for our children.
Every dollar helps!
Corporate matching gifts: Please check to see if your employer supports corporate matching to maximize your donation! When an employee donates, they can request a matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio.

INSTALLMENT PLAN OPTION: Parents may divide their Shark Fund donation into five equal monthly payments. If you choose this option, the first installment is paid at checkout and the remaining installments are automatically charged in subsequent months.
